BOUNDARIES OF THE DISTRICT
The Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu is bordered by the following districts and bodies of water:
- North: Tenkasi district
- South: Kanyakumari district
- East: Thoothukudi district
- West: Thiruvananthapuram district and Kollam district of Kerala
- Gulf of Mannar: The Gulf of Mannar borders the district to the south
- State of Kerala: The state of Kerala borders the district to the west
- Virudhunagar district: The Virudhunagar district borders the district
Tirunelveli is located in the southernmost tip of the Deccan plateau. The district is known as the “Green Energy Capital” of Tamil Nadu.
